White Springs to Gainesville to Palatka

Riding to Gainesville was wet and miserable no photos we looked like drowned rats. Our motel had limited internet. Today started off sprinkling and we were prepared we all have "sauna suits" I am wetter on the inside than on the outside where it is raining. As we pedaled 1 mile the rain poured and would not stop so we holed up in a bike shop Maria bought fenders that fit. Then it lightened up some and we went on this glorious bike trail for 14 miles at the end was a little park and we had another picnic lunch then started out again. We had rain and sprinkles all the way. Our bikes are covered in sand I now have a 10 speed I can only use the middle ring we will check it tomorrow. I really don't use the big or little ring anymore. Our sauna suits and camelbacks are covered in sand, I switched to sandals after New Orleans and am wearing plastic bags over my wool socks. It has been a great trip. Tomorrow we arrive in St. Augustine. Kinda happy kinda sad.

We're headed to Athens today for the Georgia Tandem Rally with 95 tandem teams! Unfortunately, rain is predicted, so we'll be riding through similar weather. Congratulations - and condolences- on being so close to the end of your incredible adventure. You two are an inspiration!
